FON is a Global Community of people who share WiFi. Share your WiFi broadband access at home/work and enjoy WiFi all over the world! More info from Fon.
What is SpreadFON?
SpreadFON.org is a web site helping the FON-movement to spread... we're not officially related to FON, we just like the idea and want to help and spread the word - join us and let's have some fun!
Who can post here?
Everyone can read the content on SpreadFON.org. If you want to post your own stories, comments, pictures etc. (when logged in, you can post content by clicking the "create content" -menu on the left). If you already don't have one, please register an account here at SpreadFON.org.
What are FON-Points?
FON-Points are related to your activity here at SpreadFON.org - generally the same way than Spread Firefox is doing it. You will earn FON-Points for activities (writing, commenting, uploading etc.) you'll show here at SpreadFON -web site. At the moment FON-Points are mainly for fun, but later on when we're out Beta, there will be some real use for your FON-Points ;) (that said, please read the next question)
Why there's a possibility to include "Google Publisher ID" in my settings?
Later on, we'll introduce Google Ads (AdSense) here at SpreadFON to pay our costs and reward our active members. We feel it's just fair to share the revenue with those who are active here at SpreadFON.org
It means, that every activity (post) you'll start, half of the upcoming AdSense-impressions on that topic will show up with your code... and that, of course, means those AdSense -clicks are rewarded to you. The more interesting topics you've started - the more people read and comment it - the more AdSense impressions with your code etc...
If you don't already have Google Publisher ID, take a look inside your settings ("my account" -link) and there the tab: "Revenue Sharing" there's more info how to get one.
Fair idea, when do you include Google AdSense?
It will happen later, when we've first got enough quality content around. So, you can speed it up by starting to post ;)
What is the Referral Program?
SpreadFON -Referral Program is to spread FON even more... as a member you can take a look at your account settings ("my account" on the menu) and find your personal Referral Code. By using that code as a link, you can refer others to the FON-Movement.
You'll also gain a part of AdSense impressions from those topics, your referrals have started! So, it's a Very Goog idea to Spread The Word.
What is the CMS SpreadFON.org was build on?
We're using the great Drupal as our platform - Drupal just rocks!
Your English sounds strange sometimes, what's up?
Well... we're a small group of Finnish guys living in Southern Spain, Costa del Sol. And yes, please feel free to send your tips to correct our spelling or whatever you see fit!
